Badrinarayan

Also called: Badri Vishal, Badrinath (deity)

The small black stone Vishnu of Badrinath, held to be self-manifested and, by tradition, recovered from the Tapt Kund hot spring by Adi Shankara. The site is named for the badri tree into which Lakshmi turned to shelter the meditating god.
