Harihara, the Vishnu-Shiva composite
A two-god synthesis in which Vishnu (Hari) and Shiva (Hara) share one body split vertically, an ascetic half and a royal half. It is the counter-example to the Trimurti: Brahma is absent. Earliest in the Harivamsha, carved at Badami in the sixth century and at Harihareshwara in the thirteenth.
