The Great Tree Sage (Mahavriksha)
In the story Xuanzang heard at Kanyakubja, an ascetic who meditated on the bank of the Ganga so long that a banyan grew from his shoulder. He asks King Brahmadatta for a daughter and curses the ninety-nine who refuse him to become hunchbacked.
