Mahur

Also called: Mahurgad, Matapur

Hill town held locally to be Dattatreya's birthplace, with temples to Renuka (one of Maharashtra's three-and-a-half Shakti seats), Dattatreya and Anasuya. Local belief has Datta bathe here each morning, beg at Kolhapur, dine at Panchaleshwar and sleep again at Mahur.
