Mandar Parvat

A granite hill near Bhagalpur that local belief identifies with the Mandara used as the churning rod; it carries a seventh-century inscription, medieval Vishnu, Shiva and Varaha sculptures, the Papharni pond with a Vishnu–Lakshmi temple, and is also a Jain tirtha of Vasupujya. Fairs at Makar Sankranti and Mahavir Jayanti.
