Narasimha

Also called: Nrisimha, the man-lion

The man-lion who bursts from a pillar to kill Hiranyakashipu in a way that slips past every clause of the king's boon, and who blesses the boy devotee Prahlada. Worshipped at Ahobilam, Simhachalam and Yadagirigutta; the Bhagavata's seventh canto is the verse-level anchor.
