Vishnumoorthi Theyyam
The most popular Vaishnava Theyyam of north Malabar: a possession-performance in which Vishnu's man-lion form and the killing of Hiranyakashipu are danced by a performer from a hereditary Theyyam community, complete with a fire-entry, so that the god is held to be present in the dancer's body and blesses the village directly.
