Aranyani
The forest spoken to as a goddess. The Rigveda gives her one hymn (10.146): she seems to vanish, never seeks the village, is heard in the insects at dusk, kills no one unless an enemy approaches, is sweet-scented, the mother of wild animals, and rich in food though she does not plough. No later text tells a story of her.
