Gundicha

The queen of King Indradyumna in the Puri tradition. Fearing that the old carpenter shut in with the sacred log had died, she persuaded the king to open the door early, which is why the images of Jagannath are unfinished. The Gundicha temple, where the chariots go at Rath Yatra, bears her name.
