Guru Purnima

Also called: Vyasa Purnima

The Ashadha full moon honouring teachers, traditionally Veda Vyasa's birthday and for Buddhists the day of the first sermon at Sarnath. A modern yogic telling makes it the day Shiva became the first guru and began teaching the seven sages.
