Manikarnika Ghat

The cremation ghat and well at Kashi where, per the Kashi Khanda, Vishnu dug with his discus and filled the pit with the sweat of fifty thousand years of austerity, and where a jewelled earring of Shiva (or Parvati) fell; cremation here is believed to end rebirth.
