Matarishvan

Named twenty-seven times in the Rigveda and never given a hymn. He brings the hidden Agni from far away, from heaven, as envoy of Vivasvat, rubs him out of hiding, and gives him to Bhrigu and to Manu (1.60.1, 1.128.2, 1.141.3, 3.9.5, 6.8.4); in three passages the name is Agni's own (3.5.9, 3.26.2, 1.96.4). From the Atharvaveda on the name means the wind (12.1.51).
