Mrityu (Death)
Death as a person in the Brahmanas. Prajapati creates him above the mortal creatures as their consumer; he asks the gods to find the hidden Prajapati, and later claims the body of every mortal as his share. The Shatapatha also identifies Death with the Year, and with Agni when he turns on his maker.
