The Sangam-academy poet who found fault with a poem that Shiva had given the poor poet Dharumi, held his ground even when the god showed his third eye, was burned and then revived; the episode is played in Meenakshi temple festivals. Zvelebil holds that two different Nakkirars wrote the works attributed to him.
