Pushkar

The lake town where Brahma's lotus fell and where he held his sacrifice; home of his best-known temple (fourteenth-century structure, red spire, hamsa motifs, sanctum open only to ascetics) and of the Savitri temple on the hill above. The site of his one large public festival, Kartik Purnima.
