Pushkaram
A festival of river worship held at each of twelve rivers once in twelve years, when Jupiter enters the zodiac sign tied to that river. Bathing, gifts and rites for ancestors, mainly in the first twelve days. It comes from medieval astrological lore, with a legend of the Brahmin Pushkara who received from Shiva the power to live in water and purify rivers.
