Shatarupa

Also called: She of a hundred forms

The daughter of Brahma and, in the Brahma Purana, the first woman and the wife of Svayambhuva Manu; their children include Priyavrata, Uttanapada, Akuti, Devahuti and Prasuti. The Matsya Purana counts her among the names of Saraswati, which is why the daughter-desire stories attach to her.
