Shrinathji

The Pushtimarg's child Krishna lifting Govardhan, an image held to have emerged of itself from the hill near Mathura — a hand first, then the face — and taken up by Vallabhacharya. Carried away from Braj in 1672 during Aurangzeb's reign, it stopped where its cart sank into Mewar mud, and Nathdwara grew around it.
