Kaitabha
Twin of Madhu, born from Vishnu's ear-wax. Deluded by the Goddess in the Devi Mahatmya, the pair grant Vishnu a boon and he asks for their death, which they allow only where no water covers the earth; he kills them on his own thigh. In the Devi Bhagavata their near-invulnerability was Mahadevi's own boon. Vishnu's epithet Kaitabhajit remembers the killing.
