Kannappa
The hunter Thinnan who worshipped the Kalahasti linga with meat and water carried in his mouth and, when the linga's eye bled, plucked out his own eye and moved to give the second; Shiva stopped him and restored his sight. One of the sixty-three Nayanars, told in the Periya Puranam, Dhurjati's Telugu century and Kannada and Telugu Virashaiva texts.
