Puloma
Wife of the sage Bhrigu and mother of Chyavana. Once promised to a rakshasa of the same name, she is carried off by him after Agni confirms that she is Bhrigu's wife; her child's birth destroys the rakshasa and her tears become the river Vadhusara (Mahabharata, Adi Parva 5-6).
