Bhrigu
One of the great seers and a son of Brahma. In the Bhagavata he is chosen by the sages on the Sarasvati to find out which of the three gods is greatest, and his visit to each — met with swallowed anger by Brahma, a raised trident by Shiva and an apology by Vishnu after he kicks him — decides the sages' question. Temple traditions at Tirumala and Kolhapur, and popular retellings, build the curses on Brahma and Shiva and Lakshmi's departure onto the same visit.
