The twins warded off the fierce fire with cold and gave rich food; Atri, cast down into the cavern, they brought out with all his people (1.116.8), baffling the guiles of the malignant Dasyu (1.117.3). Descending into the cavern he called loudly like a wailing woman and they came with a falcon's speed (5.78.4). They made the heated pit a pleasant resting-place (10.39.9) and freed him like a horse, loosing him like a tight knot (10.143.1-2).
