Shiva Purana, Rudra Samhita (Srishti khanda)

Pan-India Shaiva

In the creation section of the Rudra Samhita the order of the Vaishnava story is reversed. Shiva is first and alone; wishing for the world, he produces Vishnu from the left half of his body and Brahma from the right, the latter by way of the lotus. He then assigns them their offices, keeping dissolution for himself as Rudra. The account thus grants Brahma his familiar lotus birth while making Shiva, not Vishnu, its cause.

Shaiva Agamas

Pan-India Shaiva

The Agamas go further than the Purana: there is no separate Brahma. Creation is one of Shiva's five acts and is performed by his face called Sadyojata, so what other texts call Brahma is Shiva facing west and making the world.

What is different here:

Brahma is not an emanated being but a face and an action of Shiva.
