Bhuta Kola

Also called: Daiva Kola, Bhoota Kola, Nema

The night-long worship of the daivas, guardian spirits of Tulu Nadu, in which a costumed dancer is possessed by the spirit, sings its paddana and gives judgment; kept from Deepavali to the harvest's end in May.
