Kalhana

The Kashmiri Brahmin who wrote the Rajatarangini, the chronicle of Kashmir's kings, in 1148 to 1149, and who records the Amareshvara pilgrimage as a living institution of his day: the milk-white lake of the Naga Susravas that pilgrims still see on the way (Sheshnag), a king who worshipped lingas of snow above the forests, and Queen Suryamati's gifts to Amareshvara.
