Sun Temple of Multan

Also called: Mulasthana, Sambapura, Mitravana

The temple of the Sun at Mulasthana (Multan, Punjab), identified with the Sambapura of the Samba Purana. Xuanzang (641) described a gem-studded golden image; al-Biruni found it in ruins in the eleventh century.
