Sundri and Mundri

The two girls of the Lohri song, in most tellings the daughters of a poor Brahmin near Pindi Bhattian, wanted by a powerful landlord or official, whom Dulla Bhatti rescued and married off as their own father would have, with a ser of sugar as their dowry. The song's red suit, torn shawl and looted choori are theirs.
