Sushruta

The pupil in whose name the Sushruta Samhita, the old Sanskrit text of surgery, is handed down; in its first chapter he and six other pupils ask Divodasa Dhanvantari of Kashi to teach them Ayurveda and begin with surgery. Wilson's note on the Vishnu Purana calls him Dhanvantari's pupil.
