Tiruchanur
The town of Padmavati, five kilometres from Tirupati, with the temple tank Padma Sarovaram (the pushkarini on the Swarnamukhi) where the temple says Lakshmi, after twelve years of penance, rose on a golden lotus on the fifth day of Karthika. Pilgrims visit her here before they climb to Tirumala; the Karthika Brahmotsavam ends with the Panchami Theertham bath in the tank.
