  1. The sages complain to Brahma of Sunda and Upasunda.
  2. Brahma orders Vishvakarma to create a maiden who can captivate all hearts.
  3. He gathers a particle of every gem; she is named Tilottama.
  4. She walks round the assembly of the gods and is sent to the brothers.

Narada tells how Brahma summoned Vishvakarma to make a maiden of matchless beauty from minute portions of every gem, whence her name Tilottama. As she circled the gods, Shiva grew faces on four sides and Indra a thousand eyes. She was sent to make the Asura brothers quarrel.
