Bharata

Also called: Bharat

Rama's younger brother, son of Kaikeyi. He refused the throne that was taken for him, ruled Ayodhya for fourteen years from the village of Nandigrama with Rama's wooden sandals set before him, and lived as an ascetic until Rama came back.
