Charumati
The pious wife of the Varalakshmi vrata katha, devoted to her husband and his parents, to whom Lakshmi appears in a dream and names the Friday before the full moon of Shravana. She tells the women of her town, they keep the vow together with a water-pot and a thread, and their houses fill. The Telugu katha sets her city, Kundina, in Magadha; the vrata books claim the Skanda Purana and frame it as Shiva's answer to Parvati.
