Uddalaka

In the Odia Kartika Mahatmya of Mahadeva Dasa (after the Padma Purana) the sage whom Vishnu chooses as Jyeshtha's husband. At his hermitage she cannot bear the chanting and the calm; he leaves her in the forest on the pretext of fetching food and does not come back.
