Varalakshmi Vratam
The married women's vow kept on the Friday before the full moon of Shravana: a water-pot dressed as the goddess, a turmeric thread tied round its neck and then on the right wrist of every woman present. Its katha is Charumati's dream; the vrata books claim the Skanda Purana and frame it as Shiva's answer to Parvati.
