Swami Vivekananda

The monk of the Ramakrishna order who made the Amarnath pilgrimage from Pahalgam with Sister Nivedita and reached the cave on Tuesday 2 August 1898, the full moon of Shravan and the day of Rakhibandhan; he bathed, entered, knelt and said afterwards that the ice linga had seemed to him Shiva himself, and that Amarnath had granted him not to die until he willed it.
