Jalodbhava
The water-born demon of the Nilamata Purana, son of Sangraha, reared by the Nagas under Nila, who won from Brahma the boon that he could not be killed in water and depopulated the Madra country and its neighbours; Vishnu had Ananta drain the lake with his plough and cut off the demon's head with the discus. Srinagar's tradition has the Goddess crush him under the pebble that became Hari Parbat.
