Nanda

Also called: Nanda Maharaja, Nanda Gopa

Chief of the cowherds of Vraja and foster father of Krishna. It is Nanda who explains the yearly offering to Indra, and who agrees when the boy Krishna proposes to give it to the mountain Govardhan instead.
