Shalivahana
The legendary king of Pratishthana, a potter's boy born of a serpent king and a Brahmin woman, who woke an army of clay with nectar, defeated Vikramaditya of Ujjain (or the Shakas) and began the Shalivahana Shaka era of 78 CE; Maharashtra tells the gudi as the flag raised for his return. Historians take the name as a form of Satavahana, the dynasty that ruled from Pratishthana.
