Vishu

Also called: Vishukkani, Medam 1, Bisu Parba, Bisu, Malayalam New Year

The new year of Kerala and the Tulu country on the first of Medam, the morning after the sun enters Aries, kept by seeing the Vishukkani first: a lamp, Krishna's image, rice, fruit, gold, a mirror and the golden konna, followed by kaineettam coins from the elders and a feast.
